Movie Review about God, Time, and A Man From Earth.

So i just finished watching a movie called "The Man From Earth"
(woah...i figured out how to put pictures)

I watched it illegally.

It was one of those movies that left me wanting more, because it gave so much with so little. If that makes sense.

The whole movie was in one house, with 8-9 people...talking. No special effects, no action scenes, and they never leave the house.

Yet, it kept my attention for almost 89 minutes (the whole movie) and as some people know, to keep my attention, you have to be either A. Very interesting or B. Talk about something very interesting or C. tried really hard to make a joke here. nothing came up. in other words...i have a short attention span.

So here i am watching a movie about 1 guy (john oldman), talking to his colleagues, they are all teachers at the same school. After John has been teaching at the same school for 10 years, he "all of a sudden" has to "go". So there they are, in that house, throwing him his goodbye party.

fast forward a little, he starts revealing his revelation (that he MIGHT be a man whos lived for 14000 years). Some play along and are interested, and the others...well start to hate him.

I won't get more into the premise of the movie BUT it was definitely worth the 89 minutes of my time and the ...well i didnt really pay for it...

But the movie got me thinking about how small my life is compared to...EVERYTHING. The movie can either make you A. feel like your life is useless since it wont really have much of an impact on the world and the grand scheme of things or B. motivate you to do your best and make a big impact on the world today with the time you have. It was definitely B for me. I know ill only be here for lets say around 100 years, ( i want to be that old dude who still plays basketball at the gym), but i want to leave this world knowing i made some sort of difference. Maybe nothing martin luther king or obamaish, but with my friends and family, i want to know that i made a difference in some peoples lives. Affecting everyone i come in contact with in a positive way. Putting a smile on thy face (THY THY THY, i like that word.) Random thought: i wonder if ill ever get married or if ill find "the one" end random thought.

I give it 4 bananas out of a possible 5 apples.

All in all the acting was OK, but the story is what drove this movie home. Definitely a movie for people who like to get up into a good ol' story.

Warning: God believers will have something to say afterwards and God non-believers will have something to say afterwards.

End Blog/ Movie REview

Take care and God Bless (And to the non believers) allah bless?
